An Introduction to Ohio’s Vernal Pools
Saturday, December 1, 2018
10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Akron-Summit County Public Library
Science Cafe
60 South High Street
Akron, Ohio 44326
Presented by Ray Stewart, MA, Ohio Wetlands Association
Vernal Pools are seasonal wetlands that normally appear in wooded areas and fill with a variety of life forms in late winter through spring. Many organisms only live in or are dependent on vernal pools to complete their life cycle. Vernal pools are rich in hidden wonders waiting to be discovered.
Science Café welcomes people who might not normally get involved in scientific discussions. This open event is not an ordinary lecture, it’s a casual and interactive conversation with a scientist on a particular topic.
Please contact Science & Technology for a list of readings suggested, but not required, by our presenter.
