WHAT WE DO
Ohio Wetlands Association is a membership group dedicated to the protection, restoration, and enjoyment of Ohio's wetlands and associated ecosystems through science-based programs, education and advocacy.
PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
Ohio Wetlands Association offers a variety of programs and projects aimed at conserving and restoring Ohio's wetlands and associated ecosystems. Our science-based initiatives focus on research, habitat preservation, and community engagement to ensure the long-term sustainability of these vital natural resources.
Community Conservation
Through community engagement programs, we actively bolster local involvement in conservation efforts, fostering a deeper connection between Ohioans and the wetlands that are critical for biodiversity and flood mitigation.
Education Programs
Educating the next generation is paramount to the preservation of wetlands. Our education programs aim to instill a sense of environmental stewardship in young minds, fostering a deep appreciation for wetland ecosystems and the need to protect them for the future.
Environmental Change Awareness
Through the quarterly membership newsletter, we share important updates regarding policies that support the preservation, restoration, and sustainable use of Ohio’s wetlands and associated ecosystems.
Conference and Networking
In addition to wetlands, we are dedicated to educating the general public, citizens science groups and professionals. Through our educational conferences, such as Vernal Poolooza we bring together industry experts for learning opportunities to create a passion for our environment.
